About KV
Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) are a system of central government schools under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Established in 1963, the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) aims to cater to the educational needs of children of transferable Central Government employees, including Defence and Paramilitary personnel, by providing a uniform and high-quality education.
Key Features:
Centralized Curriculum: KVs follow a uniform curriculum designed by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), ensuring consistency in education across all schools. This is particularly beneficial for students who need to transfer from one KV to another due to their parents’ transferable jobs.
Holistic Development: KVs focus on the all-round development of students. In addition to academics, they emphasize co-curricular activities, sports, and cultural programs. This approach ensures that students develop various skills and interests, fostering a balanced and well-rounded personality.
Qualified Faculty: The teaching staff in KVs are highly qualified and selected through rigorous recruitment processes. They are well-trained to provide quality education and are dedicated to nurturing the potential of each student.
Modern Infrastructure: KVs are equipped with modern infrastructure, including well-equipped science and computer laboratories, libraries, and sports facilities. These resources help create a conducive learning environment where students can thrive academically and physically.
Inclusive Education: KVs are committed to inclusive education, providing equal opportunities to all students, including those from economically weaker sections of society. The schools reserve seats for students from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and other disadvantaged groups.
National Integration: KVs play a crucial role in promoting national integration by providing education to students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and geographical backgrounds. This diversity fosters mutual respect and understanding among students, helping to build a unified and inclusive society.
